So, for Christmas, James bought me (Tawnya) a digital camera. I have really enjoyed taking pictures, but it's the getting them out there to everyone that seems to take me so much time. Anyway, here is an update on life at the Means' household and some photos to go with it.
We are expecting our third child... we find out in two weeks if we are having a girl or a boy. Either one would be wonderful, but we still have not figured out a boy name yet. The baby is due August 21. We are all very excited.
Emma is doing well in school. She is really taking off in her reading and writing. She loves to write stories. Tonight she made a book about ponies. She is also doing wonderful in gymnastics. She is getting better at her handstands and cartwheels, and does not seem so scared on the beam or the bars now. In January, Emma had surgery to remove her adnoids and she seems to be much happier now that she can breathe!
Tyler is also enjoying and doing well in his preschool. He is counting, cutting, drawing and writing letters. He loves gymnastics and actually, anything active. Last month we bought him a "Big Wheel" and he is getting stronger and able to pedal all over the place. Tyler still loves cars, trucks, boats, airplanes, ... any kind of vehicle. Almost everyday, he tells me that "when I grow up, I'm going to be a ___ driver" (fill in the blank with some kind of vehicle).
James is still working. He is now doing more as a tactical rifle and firearms instructor with the police department. He is still a field training officer. We recently sold the Jeep and now he is playing with the 4-Runner (see his webpage for the most recent mods).
Tawnya is still working for the military and the University. She received approval for her dissertation study in March and is currently awaiting final approval from the University's research review board before beginning the study. The plan is for a December graduation. In March, James and Tawnya drove to Oklahoma for a job interview. It was a great experience, but moving to OK does not seem to be the right thing for our family at this time. We will keep looking and see what happens.
Well, that seems to be all the updates for now. Enjoy the photos!
Well, that should be enough for a while... check back later for more!
